Colorful handwritten letters, some heartwarming pictures and deep-rooted concerns- the day at The Jeypore School began with a collective of students writing to the Prime Minister of India to take this matter urgently and implement national policies to conserve our soil.
The Jeypore School and Disha foundation students are on board with the Save Soil environmental movement being steered by Sadhguru to create a conscious planet.
In the last 50 years, almost half of the World’s farmland has become a desert. The UN Food & Agricultural Organisation has said that we will run out of Cultivable soil in 60 years. This will cause global famine and drought unless reversed. Many of us may not be aware that the soil under our feet is turning into sand.
Save soil is a global movement to inspire 3 billion people to stand up for the soil, which will urge world leaders to make the necessary policies.
Environmental consciousness and citizenship are not just essential topics to learn at The Jeypore School but a way of leading a meaningful life. Our students can go a long way in drawing attention to this mounting ecological issue and leaving behind a planet capable of sustaining all life and future generations.
